Dr. C. Steadman Willis, III, is a native of Durham, NC and is proud to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Dr. Guy Roberts Willis, and his father, Dr. Charles S. Willis, II. He continues this enduring family tradition of providing the residents of Durham and the surrounding counties with compassionate and quality-driven dental care. Dr. Stead Willis is very grateful for the trust his patients place in him and he is looking forward to meeting new people as his practice continues to grow. Dr. Willis strives to build lasting, stable relationships with each person he cares for. He focuses on providing a quality service to the community and he enjoys sharing in the care and lives of his patients on a daily basis.
Dr. Stead Willis began his journey into dentistry when he received his B.S. degree in Zoology in May, 2000, from NC State University. He then completed his dental education in May, 2009, at the University of Louisville, KY, where he received the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). He was the recipient of the 2009 Quintessance Award for Academic Achievement for his hard work and dedication in dental school. He is a 2009 graduate from the Triangle Dental Institute Dental Implant Continuum and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also a contributor to the following published study: Effects of Smoking and Gingival Inflammation on Salivary Antioxidant Capacity.
Dr. Stead Willis understands that dentistry is an evolving and rapidly changing profession. He participates in several study groups and professional organizations in an effort to stay current on the various practices and procedures within this field. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society. He is also a member of the Durham/Orange County Dental Society, the Guy Willis Dental Study Club (named after his grandfather), and the Durham Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Willis enjoys the fellowship, guidance, and education found amongst his peers and applies it to his daily practice. In addition, Dr. Stead Willis strongly supports community service and has had the pleasure of serving on overseas mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Honduras. During these trips, Dr. Willis and his peers provided much needed emergency and routine dental care to those in need and returned home with many new memories to guide and shape their own lives. Dr. Stead Willis has also proudly donated his time and services to the local project, North Carolina Missions of Mercy (NC MOM) and hopes to continue to participate in this worthy cause in the future. Dr. Willis has even participated in a zoological dentistry outing at the zoo in Louisville, KY, where he helped provide dental services to monkeys and lions.
Dr. Stead Willis enjoys relaxing outdoors and can be found spending much of his free time by a river or the sea. Many of his hobbies include fishing, boating, and several other outdoor activities. He enjoys the company of his wife, Emma, his son, Wade, their 2 dogs, and time spent with his family and friends.
